Hair Alchemy was founded to redefine what a salon experience should be. With its modern, open-concept design and cutting-edge hair services, Hair Alchemy seamlessly blends innovation and artistry to deliver the exceptional transformations our clients desire.
The vision for Hair Alchemy began with owner Michelly Insall, also known as “The Hair Alchemist.” After marrying her husband, Justin, their family relocated from Texas City to Katy in 2017. Michelly, an experienced stylist and educator, took on the role of Clinic Floor Educator at Paul Mitchell The School Houston. Though teaching brought her fulfillment, she deeply missed working behind the chair. Determined to reconnect with her craft, Michelly began rebuilding her clientele at a local salon, working tirelessly to establish herself in a new community. Her hard work paid off, and in 2019, she took a leap of faith, opening her first 200 sq. ft. studio suite under her personal brand, “The Hair Alchemist.”
During the pandemic, Michelly’s dedication to her clients remained unwavering. Their loyalty and support became a cornerstone of her success, allowing her to thrive in a challenging time. When her husband, Justin, was laid off from his role in offshore oil and gas, he joined Michelly to help grow her dream, taking charge of client communication, scheduling, and organization.
In August 2020, the vision for Hair Alchemy truly took shape when the property contract at Cross Creek was signed. Just six months later, on February 4, 2021, Hair Alchemy officially opened its doors.
Today, Justin serves as the salon’s General Manager, ensuring seamless daily operations with a business-focused perspective. Michelly leads and inspires a talented team of stylists, sharing the expertise and passion she has honed over her 20-year career. Together, they continue to create a space where artistry, innovation, and community come to life.
