About this Nominee
Amazing Place is the area’s leading resource in navigating dementia and nurturing brain health. Celebrating our 30th anniversary, our faith-based non-profit believes it’s never too early or too late to care about brain health and to live with joy and purpose. We serve our neighbors who have been diagnosed with mild to moderate dementia or mild cognitive impairment. We also support caregiving families and friends, and anyone who cares about brain health. Our weekday Day Program, located at our new Katy campus, engages participants in creative, cultural, social, spiritual, nutritional, and physical activities of their own choosing to help slow progression of memory decline. Caregivers, at any stage of the disease, are provided with free next-step advice, resources, and support to understand and manage the challenges of dementia. Because we now know that 45% of dementia cases are preventable by adapting a healthy lifestyle, Amazing Place brain health experts share their knowledge at no cost to community, business and church organizations through presentations and classes.
